About Scenarios

Scenarios are available on paid and Education plans. However, you can try Scenarios for free in our demo networks.

Scenarios allow you to answer “what if?” questions within a model. Whether you are analyzing operational changes (like a burst pipe, a valve closure, a temporary rezoning) or planning long-term upgrades (staging upgrades over 5-year periods, testing when projects need to land, or comparing pathways), Scenarios keep your files clean and organized.

Early access

Please note Scenarios is an early access feature under active development, so some functionality is limited:

• The main model becomes read-only while scenarios exist.
• Scenarios cannot be saved yet and are temporary.
• You can delete your scenarios at any time to unlock the main model.

How to enable Scenarios

Click Enable Scenarios on the far left side of the Status bar.

Scenario manager

Enabling scenarios creates a new scenario and activates the Scenario Manager. The button will now display the name of the active scenario.

Click it to open a dropdown menu where you can:

• Switch to Main or other scenario scenario.
• Create a new scenario.
• Hovering over any scenario in the list will show you a button which opens a new subpanel with these options:
  • Rename.
  • Delete.

You can also quickly change scenarios pressing Y in your keyboard.
